Dr. Garon Harden Sr.
Foundation and Calling
- Pastor Garon Harden Sr. loves the Lord with all his soul and with all his might. Saved in May 1964 and filled with the Holy Spirit on June 12, 1964, Dr. Harden yielded to the divine call to ministry in October 1965. His journey of faith led to his ordination as an Elder in 1978 by the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) under the leadership of the late Bishop J.A. Blake.
Leadership and Ministry
- Currently, Dr. Harden serves as the pastor and founder of Greater Open Door World Wide Ministries COGIC. Appointed by Bishop Joe L. Ealy, prelate of the Southern California First Jurisdiction, he also serves as the District Superintendent of the Great Open Door District. His leadership extends across the region as the Jurisdictional Superintendent for the Greater Open Door District under the auspices of Southern California Jurisdiction Number One.
Outreach and Service
Beyond his local pastoral duties, Dr. Harden is a dedicated educator and evangelist who conducts revivals, seminars, and workshops in various venues whenever called upon. Dedicated to the growth of the body of Christ, he additionally serves in the following capacities:
- Served 15 Years as President of The Long Beach Ministers Alliance
- Served on Advisory Panel for Supervisor Deane Dana
- Served on Transitional Team for Long Beach Mayor Beverly O’Neill
- Chaplain for the Long Beach Police Department
- Co-Founder of the Long Beach Community Action Committee
- Served on member of the Long Beach Cable Commission
- Served on the Presidential Search Committee at Long Beach City College’s Liberal Art Campus
