What To Expect
Before the Dedication
- Request Submission: Parents or guardians submit a Baby Dedication request through the church website
- Confirmation: A member of the church leadership will reach out to confirm eligibility, answer questions, and schedule the dedication.
- Preparation: Parents may be asked to review a brief explanation of the meaning of Baby Dedication and the commitment involved.
- Arrival Time: Families are typically asked to arrive 10–15 minutes early on the day of the dedication.
During the Dedication
- Service Placement: The Baby Dedication takes place during a regular worship service.
- Family Participation: Parents or guardians will be invited to come forward with their child. Siblings and immediate family may join if desired.
- Pastoral Prayer: The pastor or minister will pray over the child and family, asking God for protection, wisdom, and guidance.
- Parental Commitment: Parents may be asked to affirm their commitment to raise their child in a Christ-centered home.
- Congregational Support: The congregation will be invited to affirm their support through prayer and encouragement.
- Time Length: The dedication moment is brief and reverent, typically lasting 2–5 minutes.
After the Dedication
- Return to Service: Families return to their seats and the worship service continues.
- Optional Photos: Families are welcome to take photos before or after service as permitted.
- Keepsakes: Some families may receive a certificate or small commemorative item, depending on church practice.
- Continued Support: The church remains committed to walking alongside your family through prayer, fellowship, and spiritual growth.
